Hello everyone,

Sorry for the lack of updates. Was quite busy over the last few weeks.

Firstly, Nicky is back from the states! That's why didn't really play alot of poker, met up quite abit with my bros. Had potluck dinner for christmas, went zouk for drinks etc. Always enjoyed my time with my best friends.

Back to poker. Although I didn't really play much, somehow I am down 800usd for the past week. I guess i was too spewy, taking too many shots at the higher limit MTTs, and didn't play as well as I should have. I took part in the Suitedace christmas freeroll, where the first prize is an iPad! And as usual, Wuffle becomes the bubble boy, busting out of the tournament 2nd and there's no prize for second at all. TILT.

However, I have been playing alot more live games. Although I am better in tournaments, the live cash games are just too juicy. There are just too many people who just wanna gamble. I think over the next few weeks I will try and grind more cash games, and see how it goes.

Hello,

Thank you everyone who has shown support in one way or another, I am really appreciative and hopefully I will be able to complete this challenge.

So, I went for the LWPS ( Leisure World Poker Series) tournament on the Leisure World cruise yesterday. I went there twice before, and the worst part is the ferry trip to the cruise. The moment I stepped into the ferry and it started rocking, I feel giddy already. It was a torturous 1 hr ride to the main cruise itself.

Onboard, I rolled $500 to get $35 cashback, not bad considering the ferry ride costs $43, so effectively I spent $8. However, those $500 chips you have to gamble it at the tables. AND, I really hate gambling (weird to hear this coming from me right hahah). But, baraccat or blackjack is gambling. For example the house has a edge of 1+% in baraccat. So if I sit there wagering $1000 every hour for 5 hours, I'll be expected to lose about $50. THIS, is gambling.

Yup, so I registered into flight 1a, and got assigned to seat table 7, seat 3a ( they pantang dont wanna put 4, so it's 3a instead hahahaha).

The first few levels went pretty well for me. I was able to chip up nicely with a few raise preflop and cbet. Sitting to my right is an Ang Moh, so I engaged in a little chat with him. He's a private banker, from Switzerland. Then he started talking about how many years he have been playing poker (10+), and how many tournaments he've won. Recently he said he just won the poker tournament played in the Singapore Flyer. AMDK, so I just said " Oh ok". I didn't really care though hahahahah.

So during the 3rd level, I had AK suited under the gun +1. The AMDK open shoved about 19bb, and i made the call. He turned over 44, and i rivered the ace to have a nice stack of about 15k ( we started with 10k).

So after the break, people got more aggressive. There were more 3bets preflop and shoving. I was chipping up nicely and had about 17k stack. So this particular hand, I had QJ suited on the button. Some middle aged uncle raise 2.5x. I called and the big blind called. Flop was QT6. Uncle made a cbet and I called, big blind folds. Turn was a 3, and the uncle shoved his stack of about 22bb into me. I went into the tank, and made the call because he did it before with AQ on a low board.

Yup, so this was the board when he shoved, and the Ace must peel on river. And Wuffle became a sad puppy. However I was not tilting, just gotta accept it and fight on. At this point of time, I was a little short stacked (7k) which is about 20BB ( short but ok stack).

A few hands later, my AK ran into QQ. No A or K on the board and thus, I was busted and this concludes my LWPS tournament. Hahahah, oh well! If only I won the first pot I think I would have a nice stack, and hopefully can final table.

I booked the next ferry out, because any minute more on the cruise makes me tilt. The smoke + the rockiness just make me feel very uncomfortable. And oh yea if you're wondering about my $500 casino chips, I had some random poker friends who just wanted to play the casino so they cashed me out ^^ always good to be nice to people, So while waiting for the ferry, I was watching Game of Thrones on my google nexus. Halfway into the show, suddenly got sex scene the guy was pumping the girl from behind. In my head i was thinking " siao liao so many uncles and aunties beside me". But aiya heck I am not even watching porn why should i be scared. But the sex scene was quite long hahahah and then I felt a tab on my shoulder. I took off my earphones and the uncle said " eh boy ah, this kinda thing not good. You very sick in the mind ah." I told him " Hey it's game of thrones, US drama serial". Then i realised they dunno what the fuck it was. So I just gave up, and he was giving me a lecture behind me.

hahahaha, yup! Today is Sunday, which means it will be a full night of grinding. Hopefully I'll make some good deep runs, and post some interesting hands here!

On a side note, my favourite rabbit passed away. His name is Rambo. :( RIP Rambo.

Awesome night

This gotta be the best night thus far.

Woke up at around noon time, went around my house but no food so i went back to sleep hahaha. Woke up at 3pm. Played some starcraft, and then sat down and watched Assassinato's training video.

Assassinato is truly inspiring, he teaches you not only poker stuff, but also how to manage your money, life and emotions etc. I would recommend everyone taking poker seriously (MTTs) to go watch his training videos on pocketfives. Although they do need a subscription fee, there are several promos where you can deposit and get 3 months of subscription free ( that's what i did ^^).

So tonight was the big night, I had the 2nd chance freeroll for LWPS (tournament on a cruise) on Pokerstars, and another satellite for LWPS on SuitedAce. I only registered for 2 other tournaments, the big 5.50 and the 2.20 rebuys, so that I can fully concentrate for my satellites.

LWPS Satellite

So, I managed to qualify for the LWPS (worth about $250usd), from a field of 55 people. Ran quite well, got in my stack AA vs AK vs AJ hahahah. So after this satellite, the satellite on SuitedAce is still ongoing. I was thinking " Hmmmm, I don't really need 2 seats do I". Wanted to dump some chips, but I realised there's no downside to me playing properly and get another seat. Firstly, I can deprive another dude of the seat ( less people = higher chance of winning). Secondly, I would want to play the best poker that I could.

And being the pro me (kidding), I shipped the satellite on SuitedAce as well. Talked to the people in pokerkaki and hopefully I can take the 2nd seat for SGD$300 cash. Yes! My effort of playing properly paid off.

So wow everything is going right for me. However, I busted the big 5.50 and only left the $2.20rebuys. Lol, I was 1-tabling all the time because I didn't want to register for more tournaments so that I can rest for LWPS. Wow but I ran so well again.
Took 4th for $815

Took 4th for this tournament, the last hand was quite sian. Had QK in the cutoff, standard 2bb raise. Got 3bet by the button ( some russian dude), I called and flop was Kxx. I check he bets i check raise he jams. Turns out he had a flush draw. Sigh.

Oh well. Still a good night overall! Shall rest for Friday before going for LWPS.

Tilt post

Oh man,

Thought tonight will be a good night. Final tabled a 5.50 MTT, but was short so busto 7th for 100+. But the main thing was the deep run in the Big 5.50 with a prize pool of $35k.

Played for around 8 hours, before busto in a typical pokerstars fashion :(. Had ATs in middle position. Made a 2.3x raise. BB calls. Flop was 236, with a flush draw for me. BB checks and I made a cbet, BB jams and I made the call. He opens up QJs with the same flush draw. I AM so ahead, but the river drops J.

Sigh, that could have given me a nice chip stack, but busted in 27th position for some pathetic money.

Haha, actually I did saved some hands to discuss here. But after that busto I just closed everything.

Anyway, other than the 2 deep runs in the MTTs, my 3.50r went very bad. So overall I'm still in the red. Sad puppy is me.

Live Poker Spew

Hello everyone,

Sundays are extremely lucrative to grind, where all the fishes come out.

So after those 2 big wins, I took a short nap and decided to take a shot at the $215 Sunday Million ( $5 million guaranteed). As in, it's a tournament and anyone can win it right, and the first prize ( ~$500,000) can truly be life changing. So I opened up some satellites and starting grinding. Was in the FT for 2 of the 8.80turbo. Cashed a little for one, and bubbled the entry for the another. There was another massive satellite where there's 1000 seats guaranteed. I had quite a nice stack and planned to fold my way into the money. However, I had AKs in the BB, and the button shoves when he was like 4bb deep and I had 10bb. He opened AQ and of course, I lost. So that concludes my Sunday grind.

Monday

So my friend decided to host a friendly 1/1 non-raked game. So I decided not to grind online for today and play some LIVEEEEE POKERRRRRR. Hmmm, generally it was just a bad night. Made a number of bad calls + running bad. Live poker is a totally different ballgame from online MTT/SNG. I find that I've been opening too much preflop, but my postflop play still needs some work. So I donked away $400 that night.

What a bummer! Was finally in the black, and was looking to go north all the way. Now I'm in the red and that feeling sucks. However, I'm a fighter and I will grind it back.

On a side note, I got a second monitor so I can probably do more tables now. Will be trying around 8-10, and move up to 12 when i'm more comfortable. This is picture of my grind station!

Yup, will be watching some pocketfives training videos, some starcraft and I'll start my grind at about 8pm later. I am thinking of discussing some of the interesting hands that I encountered, or if you all have anything to talk about poker please feel free to leave a comment!

GL at the tables everyone~

Day 4

Hello everyone,

was running extremely bad for the first 2 days. Was down about 500+. Was pretty spewy and throwing my chips around. However, I made some adjustments with regards to my pre flop shoving range, and decided to take it more post flop. This yielded some results as I immediately took down the $3.50 rebuy and $2.50 turbo back to back for a total of $700+. Nice comeback Wuffle!

$3.50r Turbo

$2.50r Turbo

This was tough at some point of time, doubting myself if I can really make this work. Thankfully I managed to stay focused and pull off a big win.

Off to the grind again!

Friday, December 6, 2013

Hello everyone,

Put in about a 9 hours session yesterday. And second day of my challenge didn't turn out well.

Played all the MTTs below 10, and 3.50 rebuys. I still cannot grasp how to play 3.50rebuys properly. Other than running quite badly ( losing against dominated hands), I did not even cash 1 yesterday. In fact, I only cash 1, which is the Hot 8.80 25k Gtd. Went quite deep in that one though but just barely made top 100.

Disappointing day. However, I am a fighter. I will review my hands, watch more training videos to improve my game. I believe the big score will come soon!

Fighting!

Hello,

Didn't end the first day well, currently in the red.

Played a couple of $3.50 rebuys and MTTs. Went deep in 1 of the 5.50r 10k guaranteed but busted in 50+ position. Standard TT vs AQ.

Recently I've been experimenting with flatting with pocket pairs and play in position. This actually reduces the variance and situations where i find myself to be flipping too much. However in that case Villian was some aggro with v high PFR so i tried to take advantage of that, didn't expect a 4bet shove though.

And oh ya, i put 25euros into some online betting website for fun, to bet on starcraft and dota. hahaha, so i'll post all the winning and losses here as well.

Pokerstars bankroll : $333 ( down 77)

Pinnaclesports (online betting for esports) : $40euros

Shall attempt to put in more volume and hopefully, a big win soon!
